Student Feature-Maitri Foley

Sophomore Maitri Foley has around seventy different animals including newts, geckos, frogs, tarantulas, cats, salamanders, and several others.

She has always enjoyed being around animals and when her family first moved to Boise she got her first gecko. After that the collection just kept growing and growing, resulting in many more animals.

Her home has become a wonderful and loving enviorment for each of the animals they add. The family makes sure to care for the animals and keep their house clean, and that’s tough with seventy animals!

One day, she was holding her geckos like always and didn’t notice when one scampered off her bed and ended up at the top of her curtains. “The next thing I know, there is a little orange looking thing flying towards my head. So I caught it and it turns out he was just up there for like two hours waiting for the right moment to jump,” Foley shares.

Maitri plans to spend plenty of time with her animals, keep them healthy, and continue to post cute photos on her Instagram account: @maitrif2
