College Football Playoff predictions
December 16, 2019
The College football playoff is a group of four teams that play for one thing, to be titled the best in college football that year. The teams that will be represented are: Ohio State, LSU, Clemson, and Oklahoma. These four teams have all had solid years but maybe none as good as LSU.
LSU(Louisiana State University), the number one seed in the playoff, is being lead by Joe Burrow- or known to some as Joe Bureaux- who is predicted by some to be the Heisman winner (Basically the MVP of College football). This years LSU offense is one of the best in college football as it is the only team to have two wide receivers with 1,000 yards receiving. The only issue with this team is the fact that they are the only team who had won a championship with a defense that wasn’t in the top 25(and that team was Florida who had Tim Tebow, one of the best College players of all time).
Ohio State is the number two seed, but that doesn’t properly represent how good this team is. They’re beating teams by an average of over thirty points, and on top of that, they have three of the best players in the nation: Justin Fields, J.K Dobens, and Chase Young, all finishing in the top five of the Heisman race. Ohio State has been considered one of the best college teams ever, but will that end up being the case with the toughest game coming against Clemson on December 28th?
This year, Clemson- the three seed- might be the team to beat. This power house is home to quarterback Trevor Lawrense, the 2021 projected first pick due to his size and unbelievable arm talent. Clemson is becoming one of the best college football teams in history, winning two national championships in the past five years under head coach Dabo Swinney. They have a great defense with great defensive ends, which just might be what it takes to defeat Ohio State and Coach Day this year.
Coming in as the unexpected four seed with the Utah Utes loss to the Oregon ducks the Oklahoma sooners have punched their ticket to the playoff. This team has had an odd season losing to Kansas St and Beating Baylor in the Big 12 championship in an OT thriller. Jalen Hurts is the Quarterback who lead the team to the win against Baylor. This team will have a true shot against the LSU team due to the weak Defensive line and rush Defense LSU has had this year with one of the best mobile QBs in football and a dominant running core.
If we could see into the future to look at the headlines, expect to see Ohio State coming in big against LSU, destroying the LSU Tigers defense.
