Holiday Gift Ideas
Personally, all I want is four feet of snow at Bogus, but you can’t really put that in wrapping paper.

Most of the people I know would agree that one of their favorite parts about the holidays is opening gifts. Now, there is lots of talk about how joy of giving is greater than the joy of receiving, and while I disagree with that, I’m here to tell you how to amplify this joy by giving you three excellent ideas for gifts this holiday season. Personally, all I want is four feet of snow at Bogus, but you can’t really put that in wrapping paper.
- Karaoke Machine
Some of you may be thinking: “Oh, I can just use my phone and YouTube to create a karaoke experience right on my phone.” You may be right, but nothing beats the togetherness and the sense of stage presence that comes from the possession of a karaoke machine. Singing your heart out with what sounds like an actual microphone to an audience of your immediate family is not only a great way to create more bonding time between you and your loved ones during the holiday season, but is just downright fun. Rocking out to whatever song you want on one of these things is without a doubt worth the amount of money you spend on them, and is totally a great gift for the oversharing mom or Tik Tok teen of your family.
2. A Really Cool Hat
This one is super broad and vague, but let me tell you that the most meaningful piece of apparel, if selected correctly, is a hat. A hat can almost always draw all the attention to it and people are known to wear the same hat over and over again throughout their lives. If you can really take the time that is necessary to look at a person’s style and ask them what they like and what they want, a hat can be without a doubt one of the most meaningful ways a person expresses themselves throughout long periods of their lives. Tom Landry, one of the most iconic football coaches ever, is known by most people for his hat. Trump supporters, their most defining characteristic is the classic MAGA hat. You will be beloved forever by the person who receives the hat, if you do it right.
3. Nice Headphones
From what I’ve seen in online classes this year, it is clear to me that most people don’t have headphones and others in their household are suffering from it. A kid who is in math sitting at their kitchen table is going to bother everyone else in the house as “What’s 1+2?” blares for the entire house to hear. It creates an environment that is not only unfit for learning but also is incredibly annoying. All this can be solved with cheap, mid market headphones that can plug into a jack or a USB cable. Not only will it help your sanity, but it will help them in school and they will forever be in your debt.
