For a long time, Idaho wasn’t a big stop for major music tours. A lot of artists skipped over the state and went to bigger cities like Seattle or Salt Lake City instead. But that’s starting to change. Idaho has grown a lot in recent years, and more musicians are realizing that there’s a strong fan base here. Now, more big names are adding Idaho to their tour lists.
In the past few years, Megan Moroney, Ty Myers, Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers, G-Eazy, Jon Pardi, and Jason Derulo have all performed in Idaho. Before, artists like these might have skipped over the state, but now they see that Idaho fans are just as excited about live music as people in bigger cities. One of the biggest reasons for this change is Idaho’s growing population. Cities like Boise, Meridian, and Nampa have gotten way bigger over the past few years, which means there are more people who want to go to concerts. With more ticket sales and packed venues, artists are starting to see that Idaho is worth the stop.
One of the most talked-about upcoming concerts here in Boise at the ExtraMile Arena, is The Lumineers with Tom Odell on July 29, 2025. They haven’t been to Boise in over a decade, so this is gonna be a long-awaited concert for fans who haven’t seen them in a while. Post Malone, another major artist, along with Jelly Roll, is making a stop in Nampa, at the Ford Idaho Center, during his tour. Riley Green is also making his debut in Idaho at the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater this summer, on August 23, 2025. He has some amazing openers, including Ella Langley, Mike Ryan, and Preston Cooper. Another rising country star, Megan Moroney, is performing at the Mountain American Center on September 19, 202,5 although it’s not super close to Boise, if you like her, it will be totally worth the drive to Idaho Falls. It hasn’t been too long since she was here, as she was an opener for Kenny Chesney last July. But this is a concert all to herself, and many are very excited to go to her first headlining tour.
If you and your close ones are looking for something fun to do this summer, going and experiencing one of these concerts should definitely be on your list.
