Boise School District has four main high schools: Boise, Timberline, Capital, and Borah. Every school claims they are the best so let’s take a deep dive to find out which school truly is best.
Let’s start with student life and involvement. Our school has 66 different clubs, the most out of other schools in the area. Borah has 35, Capital 22, and Timberline 38. That alone is proof that our students have more school involvement. At Boise High there is a club for almost anyone. Some examples of our clubs are ASL club, they meet every Tuesday in room 602 at lunch. SAGA – the Sexuality and Gender Alliance- meets Fridays at lunch in room 331. Vinyl club meets Wednesdays after school in the library. Those are just a few examples of our many clubs here at Boise High.
We have 502 Seniors, 524 Juniors, and 527 Sophomores at Boise High, meaning we have the most students when compared to all other schools. For example: Borah has 422 Seniors, 475 Juniors, and 490 Sophomores, Capital has 422 Seniors, 475 Juniors, and 490 Sophomores, and Timberline has 414 Seniors, 466 Juniors, and 426 Sophomores. With more students brings more diversity and new experiences. With 1553 students, Boise High is obviously the best. We have a wide variety of neighborhoods in our schools section, from the middle of the North End, to Garden City. The diverse neighborhoods are part of what makes Boise High so special.
Boise High School has eight sections, and the room numbers make sense, which is pretty typical for most schools. But then there’s Capital High, and honestly, whoever came up with their room numbering system must have been trying to make life difficult for everyone. I had a debate tournament there once, and I spent 10 minutes running around the school (in heels, no less!) just trying to find room 215. Why is room 216 all the way across the building from 215? It doesn’t make sense. I know people who have gone to Capital for two years and still don’t get the numbering system. Meanwhile, Boise High keeps things simple, and you don’t need a map to find your English class. It’s just straightforward and logical.
Finally Boise High has the most school spirit of all of the schools. Just look at the size of our student sections at sports games versus any other school. Our students really show up for each other at games, whether it be basketball, football, or volleyball. We have our fellow Brave’s backs at all of our games.
Long story short, Boise High is the best high school in our district. From clubs to diversity, our building, and finally school spirit, our school is an amazing community and welcoming space.
