Food Truck Fridays at Boise High are literally the best things about coming to school, and I look forward to it every other week. It is just one of those fun surprises, something different to break up the usualness of school. The food trucks have a large variety of everything from tacos to burgers. The choice makes it so Fridays are even better than they already are.
Boise High’s Student Council, aka StuCo, came up with this amazing idea. I got the chance to talk to Cora Nelson, B-O-I-S-E-!’s exclamation point and she told me about Food Truck Friday. She stated, “I love this idea and I think many BHS students do as well. Even though it’s pretty chilly outside it has become very popular, and everyone should look forward to more diverse oferings once it gets a little warmer out.”
One of the things I really love about Food Truck Friday is that it’s the perfect solution if you’re not feeling the cafeteria food. My friend Addie absolutely loves this. She always says, “It’s great because if you don’t like the options in the cafeteria for lunch, then you can always go out and see what the food trucks have and find something that you really want to eat.” For Addie, it means trying new food, and getting different things than offered through the lunch line. She enjoys the flexibility and variety, which for sure will be a big plus for anybody tired of the usual options.
I also couldn’t agree more with my friend Avery when she says, “It’s so nice to have an on-campus fast food option without having to leave and find parking. I can just get something quick and stay on, which gives me way more time to relax and zoom back to school.” Trying to find parking off campus is such a hassle, and by the time you get back, you’re not left with much time either to eat or relax. That makes the option of food trucks here at school way more achievable. You get the fast food experience without all the extra hassle.
It is, without a doubt, evident that Food Truck Friday has grown to be many BHS students’ favorite, and quite rightfully so. It is a great event that unites the whole school in having a nice lunch between classes, hanging with friends, or trying something new. Everyone at Boise High loves it , and definitely, it’s one of the best parts of the school year.
