Namaste With Goats
May 23, 2018
Imagine you’re outside on a warm sunny day, spreading your yoga mat out, you start to flow- downward dog, plank and as you flow down into cobra pose, pop! A cute little goat face smiles at you bombarding you with tiny goat hops. You cannot tell me that doesn’t sound extraordinarily adorable.
Ignoring the smell, goats are the cutest little animals you would want to do anything with, especially a relaxing session of yoga. Yup, you heard me! Wind down from your long day at school and have little goats prancing along and maybe, if you’re lucky enough, you’ll get a goat kiss or two.
Many of you might be asking where one would find such a heavenly place but look no further. A local boise fitness studio houses a relatively new program called Goat yoga. This unique take on a relaxing exercise consists of goats prancing atop, around and among you and if you don’t think that’s the cutest way to spend your day then I can’t help you.
If you’re as excited as you should be then you’ll definitely want to hop on down to the OG of the goat yoga craze; Oregon. By now you might think I’m a bit crazy but nothing compared to Oregon’s goat fanatics.
The starting goal for the Oregon based company was to create a place with animal assisted therapy and why not with a silly creature. The company has taken off and sells packages including, Goats and Wine Night along with lots of sick goat merchandise (definitely getting some).
The simple exercise has blown up and is now a crazy trend all over the world, but the oregonians take the prize for goat obsessiveness going as far as saying, “My therapist has fur and four hooves.”
When you close your eyes and start to think about soft, adorable, sweet little animals many think of puppies or kittens, but that all stops here. Here, open your mind to the jumpy little animals who buck their way into your hearts and your yoga mats.
