“Boise Brave to the Grave!” the Boise students and cheerleaders yell in sync. There are no frowns to be found in the crowd, dozens of students standing in the stands all participating in the cheers. This is how our games could and should be. there are a few rules that we may need to go over again
As you know we have a very hardworking cheer team and dance team. The cheer team works very hard on practicing their cheers and chants, some of these chants are made to be crowd involvement cheers such as “B-H-S everybody yell B -H-S”. How do we know which cheers to join in on and which not to, let me guide you on cheers to join in on. Any cheer that says anything such as “everybody yell” or any cheer that has a direction such as “Clap your hands and stomp your feet”. When our Boise High student section joins in on cheers it makes games more fun for everyone, it hypes up the football players, the cheerleaders, the student section, and the band members.
At any game that you attend as a boise high student you need to keep in mind that you are representing your school especially if you are wearing a piece of clothing that says boise high or brave on it. When representing boise high school it is important that you act accordingly and are respectful to others and your surroundings. You can do this by not cursing overly loud, not littering or leaving a mess behind, or being kind to others. We want to cast a good image of Boise High School.
Our athletic director Brian Barber says some ways we can improve our student section are coordinating the cheerleader’s cheers and the crowd cheers better, not singling out players in cheers, cheering louder, listening to your Boise Stuco and cheerleaders, and getting more students to attend the games for moral support. Overall games are a very fun and are a supportive environment for all types of sport players, or even the non-athletic students who have extra school spirit. A very high energy environment that is a way for all Boise Brave students to connect with each other. So you should start supporting your Boise Brave sports teams if you aren’t already.
In the end games are really about school spirit, and we should choose to show it respectfully and with a great amount of tact. We can do that by respecting our surroundings, being respectful to everyone no matter what school they go to, and being loud at the games. Those are especially important to abide by when you are wearing anything with the BHS logo or name on it.
