For this issue of the Boise Highlights we are featuring an artist simply named, Moes. Moes is a senior here at Boise High, and the creator of the watercolor masterpiece on the cover of this issue. Moes was involved in art at an early age, saying, “I was into art when I was a kid like everyone else. I just stayed in art and plan on being involved in art through college.”
Doing art has allowed Moes to communicate their emotions, allowing them to have an actual voice instead of an insignificant whisper. When speaking about this topic, Moes states that, “When I was asked to speak my emotions, I started with a pen and paper.”
They enjoy drawing but their favorite medium of art is watercolors because of how the colors all flow together. “All of the different hues and vibrant colors that blend together, it is almost magical.” Moes tries to express what is in their mind and art is the best way for them to communicate. They are interested in expanding their medium of art to animation and film.
In the future they plan on continuing their passion for art through college, as Moes is considering Boise State or Northwest University, as Northwest University is more focused on art whereas Boise State is closer. For now, Moes is doing art outside of school more on their own time.
Moes bonds with their family through art as their mom’s side is full of artists, allowing Moes to connect with their family on something they both enjoy.
Moes decided not to take any art classes like they had in previous years at Boise High because now that they are a senior, they have to focus more on getting all of their required class credits for graduation. As they are striving for a great college endeavor at Boise State or Northwest University, both choices have art opportunities for their future in the world that they are interested in.
