As the Boise Brave High School boys and girls basketball season kicks off, excitement is building for players and fans alike. The boy’s season began with their first game on December 4th, while our Brave Girls began their first game on November 15th.
Michael Nance, a seasoned player who has been on the boy’s varsity squad for three years is ready to make an impact and has big goals for the season. “We plan to play some good basketball and make it to the state tournament,” he said. “Then we will let the hard work we put in do the talking.” Michael is “most excited to get back on the court after a long summer of training.”
Avery Patricco, a captain on the girl’s varsity squad has similar ambitions for their season. “We have a really special group this year, and I believe we can accomplish great things if we continue to push and motivate each other every day.” This year, Avery has big goals to win a 4th consecutive district title. “I think we have what it takes this year to become state champions too.”
After this school year, Patricco has plans to play basketball in college. “I’m committed to playing at Pomona College in Claremont, California. I plan to major in Biology on the Pre-Med track,” she told me. Nance has aspirations to play basketball after high school as well but is still unsure of where.
Boise Brave fans should mark their calendars, as there’s no better way to enjoy the high school experience than by supporting the team at their games. “People should come to basketball games because they are a good atmosphere to be with fellow students, and they are always having a good time,” they encouraged. “We appreciate all of the fans who come to our games.”
So, grab your school spirit and head to the stands. Boise Brave basketball promises thrilling games, strong competition, and a chance to cheer on your team.
