Bones Allen, a senior here at BHS who enjoys creating art in his free time, or even in class. It has been his passion for many years, and when he got the invitation to do the Cover Art for the Newspaper, he was ecstatic. Bones loves to make digital art, and even fan art for only a select few. He is currently taking an AP art class this year, and enjoys it a ton.
After graduating from Boise High, Bones plans to go to an art-centered college. The character featured is one of Bones’ characters he created out of the blue one day. His art typically is created from certain mediums, which he uses to express himself. Bones is currently working on an original comic, featuring the characters, Octavius and Nicoli, who are robot-like creatures fighting against the main villain or ‘The Boss’, who is a router.
Bones states “As an artist I am intrigued by the concept of robots a lot. Non-human things made by humans often give off the impression of the uncanny valley due to the attempt to capture the human form in an innately inhuman creation. In this piece, I wanted to tackle pushing a robot into a more human situation with a fantasy spin. What if a fantastic robot took the time to look at a group of butterflies? Maybe it would enjoy them, or maybe it’s just trying to compute what they are. Who knows?”
Putting the focus of his art aside, it has been said that he is a really fun guy to hang around with. Bones’ friends all tend to enjoy his company whenever they hang out at school, after school, or over the weekend. Overall, Bones is a good friend, an amazing artist, and an awesome student here at BHS.
