Many people have differing opinions on their favorite genre of movies, but the most popular is rom coms. They have a great combination of comedy and romance, and they incorporate many feel good moments. Once you get to know the characters, the events in the movies sometimes feel like it’s happening to yourself. Any one in their right mind loves a good romance, but when they are infused with some humor here and there, they become irresistible.
When you’re stressed out, a rom com is a great option to try to calm yourself down and relax. It offers a break from the chaos of everyday life because of how comforting they are.Almost all of the storylines are predictable and they go how you would want them to go, which makes us feel fulfilled and it is enjoyable to be able to relate, or wish you were relating.
After talking to two of our fellow boise high students, Avery Casillas and Addie Walter, it was clear that they both have strong opinions on their favorite genre, romantic comedies, obviously. Addie Walter says “rom coms are amazing and I would argue with anyone who says otherwise. They Are charming and give me hope for what I might want in a future relationship”. When I talked to Avery she wouldn’t stop going on about how they are the most entertaining thing and she loves day dreaming about the rom com moments. Both of these girls mentioned how these movies make them feel good and the pop of humor always lifts them up.
There are so many rom com movies to choose from, too many to even count. I have still failed to watch a boring movie that claims it’s a rom com. They’re a great option to watch with friends, family, or even on a first date. It creates a perfect atmosphere for bonding and sharing love. No matter the year it was made in or the era it was popular, rom coms are always timeless and enjoyable by anyone, anytime and anywhere. This genre will never go out of style, as there’s still many of these movies being made and many had been made way back in time.
Beyond entertainment, rom coms also offer learning experiences that you don’t actually have to experience. There’s some meaningful life lessons about love and living and many rom coms show people making mistakes and growing from what they’ve learned.
