This seasons Brave baseball team has had a successful journey to the top. The Varsity team, losing only 3 out of the 12 games played, have worked extremely hard.

Varsity consists of mostly Juniors and Seniors except for 2 Sophomores, Beck Maguire and Carson Bohning.

“The season has been super good, and our team works together really well,” exclaimed Sophomore Carson Bohning, “The older guys do like to mess with us though because we’re the young ones.”

Something the boys have been extremely proud of is their win against Timberline. Timberline’s defeat gave the team a large sense of accomplishment which they brought to the field beating the other teams more often than not.

Bohning said,“We beat Timberline this year which is the first time in a long time which was awesome.”

Another victorious feat the team prides themselves on is Varsity’s win against Mountain View.

“We started off really well and we got into little rough patch but we beat Mountain View and because it was their first home lost it gave us a lot of confidence back.”

Varsity members say that the team is a lot more competitive then JV but in a good way. There’s a whole different dynamic that the team thrives on.

Sophomore Beck Maguire started playing Baseball when he was five and began playing for his high school team making it to Varsity in his first year. “Everyone wants to play for the high school, and even though varsity is tough, it’s still really fun.”

The tight knit community baseball has to offer is seen on the field and off. “We all have team lunches and after games we have team dinners as well,” says Maguire, “Our go to place is Taco Bell.”

Varsity games are coming up sooner than expected with games three days a week and they urge people to come and fill the stands!

The Boise High Baseball community as a whole strives to achieve greatness on and off the field and this year they’ve succeeded tremendously.
